It is all right (!) to question, but does it not hold up ?
Leaders are those who just believe. But is this belief beyond doubt ?
Anyway, to do anything, you have to move ahead based on premises.
In the early evening of life, I begin to doubt the very benefit of doubt !
So, inaction is no solution. Action needs an assumption. Justification in retrospect is - well , I did the best based on the information and knowledge available at that point in time.
Is this good enough ?
Little Swati tells me - you can't stop thinking, thoughts flow in all the time !
So correct !
Cheers

Back again
I haven't written much of late. But, hey, so what ? So hasn't Shakespeare !
I need to worry about the optional Tenth standard exams. Once I do that, so many other worries crop up.
Are tenth exams good ? If you need a School leaving certificate, you need the Tenth exams. If the SLC has to have a good validity, it has to be a common exam. Specially if you think you will drop out after tenth, then this exam is crucial.
Does everyone need to go to school after tenth ? Not necessary, I think. If the tenth would provide you with sufficient life-skills, then you go in for a vocation after tenth. Why not ?
There was this article about some village in Rajasthan, where the girl, even if she has gone to college, abd done B.Com, needs to show how nimble she is in rolling Beedis so that she can get married. That is the village occupation, and the eligibility test for girls to get married. Then why does she have to go to college ?
But for such children who do want to go to college and do Engineering or Software or MBA or what ever, why do they need an exam for Tenth ?
So the good minister makes it optional. Then who will exercise this option ? On what basis ? Are the parents always equipped to decide ? Would you prematurely shut the doors to future fame and fortune for your child ?

On the Nature of Doubt
What is Doubt ?
Is it a question that can be answered with certainty ? Can one ever be sure that he has known the nature of doubt ? Does anyone know what all his doubts are ?
Normally Doubt is used interchangeably with umcertainity or suspicion. Doubt is the opposite of trust. Doubt is a prelude to certainty. If truth is light, and untruth is dark, then doubt is the penumbra, the dawn.
Whereever there is a question, there is an enquiry. That is the nature of the human mind. The question creates a doubt. Or, is it the doubt creates the question ? May be both arise simultaneously ? No, No. Doubt is the state of mind and question is the vocalisation of that state of mind.
Oh why, why shall we enquire into the nature of doubt ?Becuase Certainty is the desired state of mind. When the question arises, immediately also arises the question - is the question answerable ? Does it have an answer ? If it does have an answer, can any human find it ? Will it happen in my lifetime ? If it happens, will I get to know the answer ? Could I be the one, the first one, to get at the answer ?
Are there questions, which even when answered, remain unanswered ?

First Steps
Hello World !
This is the first step - I try to pour out my doubts to the anonymous world. It seems better to publish than perish. My introduction to a blog in any manner came from a great blogger - Lalita who is now larking somewhere else altogether. So I begin with a thanks to her.
So, what are the doubts which I shall write about ? My brain is so crowded with doubts jostling each other. So really I doubt if I know anything ?
I am currently reading The Universe in a Nut Shell by Stephen Hawking, and I could recommend to all those who tried the A Brief History of Time and failed. Much more for the lay-person this one. And well, when I am reading the part about Feynmann and the multiple histories - I think : is this similar to our Sambhavami Yuge Yuge ? Hunh ?
Let the first one be short, I shall be back.
